Donnerstag 12.3.2020 – auch heute morgen sind wir nicht ganz ausgeruht, denn die Matratzen im Hotel sind echt bretthart. Auf dem Weg zum Frühstück in Agbetiko legen wir einen kurzen Stopp in Batonou ein.
Dort wurde im November ein neues College eingeweiht.
In zwei Klassen sind Schüler da. Sie schreiben gerade eine ihrer Abschlußprüfungen, die anderen Schüler kommen erst am Nachmittag.
Auf dem Gelände und in den Klassenräumen ist es relativ sauber.Anschließend besuchen wir die Frauen, die Palmöl produzieren.
Nach der Ernte werden die Palmkerne zunächst in einem großen Kessel, der auf offenem Feuer steht gekocht und dann durch eine dieselbetriebene Maschine getrieben.
Dabei wird der äußere Teil entfernt und gequetscht und vom Palmkern gelöst. In einem Wasserbad werden die Kerne von der anderen Masse getrennt.
Die fasrige Masse wird zu tellergroßen Kuchen geformt, die man nach dem trocknen zum anzünden von Kochfeuern verwendet.
Die Kerne werden getrocknet und mit einer Maschine oder einem Stein geknackt.
Der innere Kern wird in einer Maschine gepresst und es entsteht kaltgepresstes Palmöl. In dem Wasserbad schwimmt auf der Oberfläche auch Öl, das abgeschöpft. wird.
Dieses wird gekocht und es entsteht ein Öl der zweiten Qualität, das die Frauen verkaufen oder sie verwenden es zur Seifenproduktion.
Das gekochte Öl wird durch sehr kräftiges Schlagen zu einer festen cremigen Masse. Eine Frau zieht sich Plastiktüten und nasse Frotteesocken über die Hände. Mit einem Suppenschöpfer nimmt sie lauter gleichgroße Portionen der zähen Masse und formt sie zu glatten Kugeln, die dann an der Luft getrocknet werden.
Die Seife ähnelt unserer Kernseife und wird zum putzen und Wäsche waschen verwendet.
Als nächstes besuchen wir die Krankenstation in Agbetiko, die 2017 von uns erbaut wurde.
Schon am Morgen haben wir viele Patienten gesehen, die auf Behandlung gewartet haben. Wöchentlich kommen hier etwa 5 Kinder zur Welt.
Die meisten Patienten kommen weil sie an Malaria erkrankt sind. Hier beginnt die Krankheitswelle erst mit der Regenzeit. Täglich müssen sie Patienten weg schicken, weil sie nicht in der Lage sind die Kosten zu bezahlen. Notfälle können durch unseren Sozialfond trotzdem behandelt werden. Dann wird der Gesundheitspass einbehalten, bis die Patienten das Geld gebracht haben. Bei einem Durchgang konnten wir uns davon überzeugen, dass es in den Räumen sauber ist und die notwendigsten Medikamente und Materialien vorhanden sind. Vieles davon kommt aus unseren Containern. Die Patienten werden von einer Hebamme, einem Krankenpfleger und einem Krankenpflegeschüler betreut.
Jetzt haben wir uns wieder ein kühles Getränk verdient, was heute gar nicht so leicht zu finden ist. Es ist inzwischen wieder so unerträglich heiß und wir beschließen nach Avagnion zu fahren wo es beim Krankenhaus eine Bar mit kühlen Getränken und einem Ventilator gibt.
Hier treffen wir uns um 16.00 Uhr mit mehreren Dorfbewohnern und Leuten aus Lome zu einem persönlichen Gespräch. Zum Abendessen fahren wir wieder nach Agbetiko, wo Victorine für uns und unheimlich viele Kinder gekocht hat.
Gefühlt ist das ganze Dorf auf dem Hof versammelt. Es ist schon dunkel als wir nach Aveve zum Hotel zurückfahren. Wieder war es ein spannender Tag, den wir auf der Terrasse ausklingen lassen.
