Sonntag, 12.11.23
Bereits um 7.30 Uhr treffen wir uns ausgeschlafen und fit zum Frühstück. Wie immer im Robinson Plage mit herrlichem Meerblick, leckeren Früchten und frischem togoischen Kaffee.
Bereits kurz nach 8.00 Uhr haben wir schon den ersten Termin. Bruno von Atracom , der Transitär, der die Zollabwicklungen für unsere Container organisiert kommt vorbei um einiges abzuklären. Für uns und vor allem auch für Heidi Sjöblom Zass von Engagement global, ein aufschlussreiches Gespräch um auch zukünftig Container nach Togo zu schicken.
Die Koffer müssen wieder verladen werden und etwas verspätet starten wir dann zunächst in Richtung Agbetiko. Bei einem Zwischenstopp in Aneho genießen wir den herrlichen Ausblick und ein kühles Getränk. Aneho liegt unmittelbar an der Grenze zu Benin an einer großen Lagune zwischen dem Atlantik und dem Togosee. In der Kolonialzeit landeten die deutschen Soldaten hier und in der Stadt gibt es noch einige Häuser, die an die Kolonialzeit erinnern.
Nach der Weiterfahrt ist Aveve unser nächstes Ziel. Das Hotel wird bezogen und dann geht es gleich weiter nach Agbetiko, wo wir zunächst von vielen Kindern, Victorin und ihrem Team mit viel Tamtam empfangen werden.
Kurz ein kühles Getränk und es geht sofort weiter.Die Frauen der Palmölkooperation erwarten uns schon… natürlich auch mit Tamtam, wie man in Togo Musik mit Tanz und Gesang mit Trommeln und Rasseln nennt.
Schon seit Jahren unterstützen wir die Frauen, die Palmöl herstellen und daraus dann Seife produzieren. Nachdem sie schon 2 Maschinen von uns bekommen haben, mit denen die Palmkerne geschält und später auch zertrümmert werden, unterstützen wir jetzt gerade den Bau eines Gebäudes, dass als Lager und Verarbeitungsraum dient. Bisher war es so, dass sie auch Gefahrgut, wie z.B. die Lauge, die zur Seifenherstellung gebraucht wird, in ihren Hütten – oft in den Räumen, in denen auch die Kinder schlafen, gelagert wurde. Das Öl haben sie immer gleich verkauft. Wenn sie jetzt Lagerkapazitäten haben, können sie das Öl aufbewahren, bis der Preis gestiegen ist. Direkt in der Erntezeit ist er relativ niedrig und später steigt er an. Voller Begeisterung bedanken sich die Frauen bei Hilfe für Togo und erklären den Prozess der Palmölgewinnung ( nachzulesen in den früheren Blogs z.B. März 2022).
Stolz präsentieren sie uns den Rohbau des Gebäudes und man spürt die große Dankbarkeit der Frauen. Obwohl die meisten nur Ewe sprechen und nicht lesen und schreiben können sind sie unheimlich engagiert und haben sich inzwischen auch als Genossenschaft bei den Behörden eintragen lassen, so dass sie ohne Probleme produzieren und verkaufen können.
In unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft wird von einem Togoer, der schon viele Jahre in Deutschland auf einem Bauernhof in Hessen arbeitet, eine Hühner Kücken Brutstation gebaut, die wir auch noch kurz besichtigen. Das Gebäude ist fast fertiggestellt. Der Innenausbau läuft und sehr moderne Brutapparate usw. stehen schon bereit. Wir sind sehr gespannt wie sich das Projekt entwickelt.
Ja und dann geht es natürlich gleich wieder weiter. Zuvor machen wir bei den Frauen noch einen Einkauf fürs Abendessen. In einem Räucherofen werden Fische, kleine Schlangen und große Frösche geräuchert. Sie werden dann zu einer Suppe verkocht – wir sind gespannt…
Einige aus der Gruppe möchten noch einen Ausflug an den Mono – den längsten Fluß Togos – machen und mit dem Einbaum nach Benin übersetzen. Da es schon dämmert und der Fluß auf Grund der starken Strömung doch recht gefährlich ist, können nicht so viele in den Einbaum und für eine zweite Fahrt reicht die Zeit vor Einbruch der Dunkelheit leider nicht mehr. Doch den Teilnehmern macht es Spaß.
Victorine und ihr Team haben inzwischen ein leckeres Abendessen für uns und für etwa 100 Kinder gekocht.
Immer wenn Victorine und Leon in Agbetiko sind gibt es für die Kinder eine warme Mahlzeit. Für die Zukunft möchten wir dieses Ritual fest installieren und zwei mal in der Woche für die bedürftigen Kinder ein Essen anbieten. Einige Frauen aus der Nachbarschaft werden das Kochen und die Versorgung der Kinder übernehmen. Pro Kind kostet eine warme Mahlzeit 200 Fcfa – das sind etwa 30 Cent. In Deutschland gibt es zur Unterstützung des sehr wichtigen Projektes immer wieder Aktivitäten z.B von Schulklassen, dem Suppenstern im Schwäbisch Gmünder Suppenstern usw..
Nach dem Abendessen und diesem Mamutprogramm, bei der extremen Hitze entscheiden wir uns in’s Hotel zu fahren. Die Fahrt dauert auch nochmal 40 Minuten und bei Dunkelheit ist es eine recht anstrengede Fahrt. Nach einer erfrischenden Dusche lassen wir den Abend auf der Dachterasse ausklingen.
